Tornado Update 07-10-08

One July 10, 2008 at approximately 1:00 p.m., our property was hit with an E-0 tornado, 60-70 mph winds.  The tornado took a direct path through our wooded area and front lawn.  We lost approximately 35 mature trees, some more than 50 years old, and more numerous branches than we could count, many dangling high in the air creating urgent safety issues.  We were very blessed because our home only received hail and minor siding damage though the tornado was within 100 feet of our home.  Most importantly, no one was injured!

We immediately sent out an SOS to our close family and friends, but didn’t anticipate what we were about to receive.  Throughout a three-day period, 78 volunteers gave selflessly, sacrificing their time and talent.  It was amazing!  There were people who showed up with chainsaws, rakes, a boom-truck, work gloves, and food and water, many of whom we did not know personally coming from our home church of Hosanna! in Lakeville.  They came joyfully as the body of Christ and worked very hard to ensure our property was back to ‘normal’ as soon as possible.  Subway in Farmington and Lakeville both donated huge 36” party subs to feed our hungry work crew.

Our studio is fully operational and we did not lose one day of business due to the enormous support we received from our family, friends, and our church.

Thank you to everyone who assisted us in the three-day project to restore our property!  We cannot adequately express the gratitude we feel towards everyone who helped and prayed!
